Meet Shea

Shea Pumarejo is the seasoned interior designer and CEO of her boutique renovation + design firm, Younique Designs based in San Antonio, Texas. Shea is the “go-to” renovations designer for busy professionals; with an innate ability to reimagine properties into forever family homes. For 30+ years, she has designed and renovated 80+ kitchens, managed 300+ job sites, and brings this keen construction expertise to each remodel project. Having won international acclaim, Shea has been celebrated in Architectural Digest, The Wallstreet Journal, Forbes, and Houston Lifestyles and Homes Magazine to name a few.

Driven by a desire to capture the signature style of each of her clients, every space that Shea designs becomes an expressive narrative that tells the story of the homeowner, breathing life into the spaces she designs. As a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath designer with more than 15 national design awards including nine of the prestigious NKBA awards and two projects shortlisted in the International Design and Architecture Awards in London, England, Shea is one of the most recognized authorities in renovation design in San Antonio.

Some of Shea’s more notable projects have included a historic home and carriage house on the National Registry of Historic Homes, a Hacienda in Coahuila, Mexico, a multi-million-dollar renovation of a sprawling ranch house complete with a converted barn and guest houses, and multiple residences and private offices of a high-profile international CEO and billionaire in San Antonio, and abroad. Shea brings the same level of professionalism to every project she takes on.

Shea’s philosophy for renovation is deeply rooted in preserving the history and architectural significance of the home while guiding her clients in ways to add value as she reinvents the way the property is positioned. With an expertise in serving A-list, high-earning professionals such as doctors, business executives and fellow entrepreneurs Shea understands the busy, hectic lives her clients lead and the value of their time. Her turn-key approach manages every detail of the projects she takes on from concept to project management to furnishings installation as she and her credited team act as a support, advocating on behalf of the clients she partners with. One of the biggest value-adds Shea brings to any project is the relationships she has cultivated with the most talented artisans and contractors the city has to offer.

On any given weekend you can find Shea hiking in the Texas Hill Country, painting, or enjoying time with her kids Katie and Jax. Having grown up with a father who was a “Serial entrepreneur”, Shea and her family moved often, which not only encouraged her entrepreneurial spirit, but also her love of travel and nurtured her passion for design and architecture. Shea has lived in 17 cities, 5 states and 3 countries, is bilingual and loves to travel with her children, passing on her natural curiosity about the world and other cultures.
